Going back to school | Cupcake decorating

Those of you who have been reading my posts know that I have been trying my hand at fondant birthday cakes. Well lucky me, my husband has been reading too and this past Christmas he bought me a cupcake decorating class, which I completed this past February. I loved it! What an amazing experience for people wanting to try out different techniques with an expert right there to help you every step of the way.

Letter Art | Get crafty with your walls

After I finished my wallpaper storage solution behind the door of my office, I moved on to the walls, which were a clean slate. I envisioned a collage of frames (to come on a later post), but I wanted to break it up with something more organic. I LOVE vintage lettering from old store signs but they are quite expensive. So I asked myself how I could do a DIY solution. This idea was inspired from the pom poms I made last spring with my kids. Super easy to do, you can customize the font and letter you want. Here, I have chosen to do the first letter in my company logo and I love the results. This would be fantastic for a kid’s room using their initials. Happy DIY’ing!

Crafting & gift wrap centre | Organize your life!

This new year I set a goal to finally finish setting up my office. I’m a freelance graphic designer so I work both from home and at agencies in-house. When I’m at home I want my office to be a place where I can focus on work. Currently, it’s a catch-all, where we throw clean laundry to fold, store any kids projects we want to keep, hold unused wrapping paper, store crafting supplies. Last year was incredibly busy, so my office has taken over a year to finish. This year, my first project was creating a craft and gift-wrapping area. Since my office is small, the only place I had for it was behind the door.

Below you will find a step-by-step guide to how I created my fabulous crafting and wrapping supplies station. Happy organizing!

Gay Paris | Vacation inspired art!

One of my more memorable vacations was our amazing trip to Paris when our daughter was just six months old. She was young enough to nap a lot and when she was awake she happily played with her toys in the stroller. The best part? Parents with young children get to skip the line at museums! When we got back I was inspired enough to create two pieces for her room from our trip using just a couple of Ikea frames, a few sheets of scrap book paper and some acrylic paint!
