Going back to School: Silk Screening 101
I have always wanted to try screen printing, but never found the time to teach myself. This winter I signed up for a class with a friend. The thinking was it would force me to set aside the 3 hours a week so I could focus on it. I haven’t quite finished the class yet, but here are some of the projects I have finished to date.

We’re fortunate to spend many weekends out of the city, and lately I’ve been swooning over the gorgeous wildflowers growing up along the side of the quiet country roads. On a recent walk, my daughter and I gathered some especially beautiful samples to press and save.

Beach Stone Stories | Kids DIY Game / Storytime Aid
Can one DIY during a beach vacation? Affirmative! If you brought a marker and regular crayons you are set to go to make this lovely game/storytime aid. My stepdaughter Katie once again came up with a brilliant idea. With closed eyes, one person will draw a stone and start a story based on the image on the stone. The next person will then draw a stone and continue the story based on their stone…etc., etc. She played this with her little brother while I documented their creation and they have been storytelling every day since.
