DIY Flower Wall Art | Nursery Decor

In an effort to save money, I had been on the hunt for a DIY art project for the new baby’s (now Brooke’s) room. I did a Google image search and stumbled across this fun blog – It’s Doable: Crafts, Food and Life. Now, like most DIY art projects these days, there are lots of people out there who have created their own flower art using the same technique. I’m sure you could find many variations of this on Pinterest, etc. for inspiration, but  I had my own vision so I didn’t want to be swayed by any other ideas…

What I LOVE about this craft is that it can incorporate as little or as much colour, texture and pattern as you like. While I would love to be able to purchase expensive fabrics for curtains, pillows, etc., it’s just not in the budget. This allows me to introduce colours and patterns into the room without blowing the bank.

DIY Headband & Accessory Organizer

This is a great way to organize and display your baby or little girl’s adorable accessories (headbands, necklaces, bracelets, hair ties, etc.). There are so many ways you could personalize this DIY project using whatever you have on hand!

Rail Riding Change Pad

If you’re like us, there are so many things taking up space in the baby’s room (all those toys from Grandma, more clothes than me and my husband combined) that we’re constantly searching for storage solutions. And a change table is such a bulky, big, space-waster. This space-saving, light-weight change pad shelf from Janet is built to fit over crib rails. Robin’s Room | Pink and Grey Nursery

My own little one’s nursery, which is soon to be “torn down” as she moves into her new “big girl” room.

Back in 2010 and early on in my pregnancy, I stumbled across two vintage-looking canvas prints at Write Impressions (fun shop – check it out!). I bought them and secretly hoped we would have a girl so I could use them as the inspiration for her nursery. It all worked out!

I’m heartbroken to have to move her to the bigger (formerly spare) bedroom, although I’m looking forward to a new decorating project! Stay tuned…
