DIY Magnets

For my 40th birthday celebration, I wanted to give everyone a little somethin’-somethin’! Since my husband invited my closest friends and family, all 150 of them, I wasn’t quite sure what to give that wouldn’t break the bank. After all, he was already spending a pretty penny on making the extravaganza of the decade for me. As is often the case when I’m in any home or craft store, I had a brilliant idea for a gift as I was strolling down the aisle of tile at Home Depot one day. Magnets. YES! Magnets. Everyone uses magnets. Showcasing your kids’ art. Displaying all those cards at Christmas. Posting up a sweet note to your hubz. Magnets are so practical and universally applicable! Letter Art | Get crafty with your walls

After I finished my wallpaper storage solution behind the door of my office, I moved on to the walls, which were a clean slate. I envisioned a collage of frames (to come on a later post), but I wanted to break it up with something more organic. I LOVE vintage lettering from old store signs but they are quite expensive. So I asked myself how I could do a DIY solution. This idea was inspired from the pom poms I made last spring with my kids. Super easy to do, you can customize the font and letter you want. Here, I have chosen to do the first letter in my company logo and I love the results. This would be fantastic for a kid’s room using their initials. Happy DIY’ing!

Gay Paris | Vacation inspired art!

One of my more memorable vacations was our amazing trip to Paris when our daughter was just six months old. She was young enough to nap a lot and when she was awake she happily played with her toys in the stroller. The best part? Parents with young children get to skip the line at museums! When we got back I was inspired enough to create two pieces for her room from our trip using just a couple of Ikea frames, a few sheets of scrap book paper and some acrylic paint!
