Vintage Desk Makeover

A few weeks back, one of the local schools was doing a clean out of their old stuff, and I found this amazing desk – free for the taking! The desk was pretty scratched up and covered with pencil scribbles. It had a wobbly leg too, but I had a vision for it.

Kitchen Nook Reno

Now that it’s finished, I wonder why I did not tackle one of my fave spots of the house earlier. All the ingredients to make this special were there already: great build-in benches, tons of natural light due to all the windows surrounding it, and the actual window treatments themselves.

Rosemary Salt Favours

My little sister is getting married this weekend (!) and just like I did for my wedding, she wanted to make her own wedding favours for her guests. The one idea we all loved — and agreed was doable in an afternoon — was flavoured salt favours. In the end, not only did we get them done from start to finish in a couple of hours, but they were remarkably inexpensive.

Soft Bike Basket

Spring is here and it’s time to get outside and get active. My little one is learning how to ride a balance bike, and part of the fun of getting your first bike is kitting it out with all the bells and whistles (literally). Unfortunately, there aren’t a lot of little boy accessories, so I promised him I would make him his own little basket so all his stuffies and toy cars can go for a ride, too.
