Kids Valentine Cards | It’s a candy-free zone

A lot of DIY Valentine’s Day kid’s cards do something cute with candy and I believe we literally can do better than that for our kids. Little plastic creatures from the dollar store are my fave kid’s craft element. You may have seen them on most of my cupcakes?? Here are three fun, healthy Valentines.

Three Fun Valentines

You are my Rock

So much fun to make together with your child.

What you Need:

• A bag of decorative stones at Dollarama, Walmart, Home Depot etc.
• Googly eyes (I got mine at Dollarama).
• Glue (I used carpenter glue for the eyes – it just holds really well – but something else strong will do, too)
• Black Sharpie
• Scissors
• Home Printer with white paper
• Red cardboard paper (any craft store or dollar store)
• Polybags (i already had mine) at any office supplies store or dollar store. You can also skip this and just put your card in any envelope. I just like the idea of the see-through.

How to put it together

Glue googly eyes on stones and let dry. Add little smile with the sharpie. Cut your red cardboard to size of your polybags. Print the “You are My Rock” design, see below.  Click this link for the high resolution file for you to use: VALENTINE ROCK

Cut and glue the message on one side of the red card. Glue stone to cardboard too.

What you Need:

• Plastic fishies from the dollar store. I used ones we already had and my son is not playing with anymore. Great recycling!
• Glue
• Scissors
• Home Printer with white cardboard paper
• Polybags

How to put it together

Stick on your fish, let dry and put in polybag.

Wild About You

What you Need:

• Plastic jungle animals from the dollar store. I used ones we already had and my son is not playing with anymore. Great recycling! You don’t need a zebra to use the zebra print design. You can add any wild animal to this card.
• Glue
• Scissors
• Home Printer with natural paper. Again, feel free to be creative here. This also works really nice on red cardstock. I happened to have this natural paper at home and love the texture.
• Polybags
