I have piles of empty picture frames sitting around my house. I’m not talking one or two…more like 12-15 split over several rooms. My intentions were good when I first purchased them but then “stuff” got in the way. So, to appease my husband and perhaps my cleaning lady too, I decided to try an Easter craft that would help get a few of these frames off the floor (albeit temporarily) and onto the walls.

There is probably nothing I find more DIY rewarding then setting a table. People get to enjoy it, it’s not around for too long and it has become a sport for me to use what I have, pulling pieces in from everywhere around the house. This post is not really about creating some special item or project. I am merely sharing how you can pick a colour scheme and create something fun with items you already have. My son requested a Stitch-themed birthday party. This year was going to be different, I was going to create less work for myself! To do this, I planned to make him a cake that he would actually eat and do away with the “traditional” cake. I usually make a traditional cake for the rest of the kids and make him a pie. But not this year. This year I had a plan…a Rice Krispies Treat cake! Easy to make, easy to mould, and loved by all. Turns out I am not the first person to think of this. If you Google Rice Krispies cake, tons of great inspiration comes up.
