Now With More Filling – Same Great Taste!

The Motherboards is undergoing an evolution. We are expanding our family to include an amazing group of contributors. These women have skills that run the gamut – from sewing and knitting to crafting and d.i.y.. And they so very kindly agreed to share them with us…and with you! The Motherboards will continue to post a new project every Thursday, but will increase our output before all of the major holidays. DIY White Custom Shoe Tray

Sandy shoes and flipflops were lining the entrance of our beach cottage creating a messy little corner in my otherwise perfect space. I do not like the usual plastic trays used in winter time and only found one alternative; a small overpriced metal tray. Not being scared of a bit of sawing and hammering, I decided to create a custom tray that suited my cottage.

Hand-painting Fabric

I was looking for some fabric for a tiny bathroom window curtain in the cottage, but could not find the exact colour scheme I was looking for. So, I decided to make my own using a Martha Stewart stencil and fabric paint. So easy. So good. Imagine making your own tea towels or pillows using this technique!!
