Knight’s Shield Craft | Birthday Party

My son is obsessed with medieval times, Merlin, knights and swords. So when he turned 6, the logical birthday party theme was “knights.” There were games involving jousting and dragons, a knight piñata, and a castle-shaped cake, but the thing the kids seemed most into was the shield craft. A blank canvas that they could use to create their very own coat of arms, and to protect themselves against the (provided) foam swords of their fellow partygoers. All you need is some duct tape and a few cardboard boxes and you can have a craft with endless possibilities.

DIY Magnets

For my 40th birthday celebration, I wanted to give everyone a little somethin’-somethin’! Since my husband invited my closest friends and family, all 150 of them, I wasn’t quite sure what to give that wouldn’t break the bank. After all, he was already spending a pretty penny on making the extravaganza of the decade for me. As is often the case when I’m in any home or craft store, I had a brilliant idea for a gift as I was strolling down the aisle of tile at Home Depot one day. Magnets. YES! Magnets. Everyone uses magnets. Showcasing your kids’ art. Displaying all those cards at Christmas. Posting up a sweet note to your hubz. Magnets are so practical and universally applicable! This would be the perfect gift to give the masses.

Vintage Teacup Bird Feeder with Bird Suet

The never-ending winter might be hard on us, but it is even harder on our feathered friends. Let’s spoil them with some home-made Bird Suet poured in an old flower covered teacup that screams “don’t worry it’s almost spring”!
