I was so excited to get started on my second fondant cake, but I knew flowers and polka dots would not cut it for my six-year-old son. His birthday party theme was rock climbing (see earlier invitation and loot bag posts) so I knew this cake had to be more creative. Ghosts-on-a-stick | Halloween Decoration

Hallowe’en is almost over for another year, but I wanted to add to the spookiness of our lawn before the Trick-or-Treaters arrive. Some might say that the un-mowed grass is scary enough, but I think that what it needs is…ghosts!

This crafty decoration is easy enough for even the youngest kids. You’ll just have to help out with a few things, but they can create the creepy, scary, ghostly faces!

Custom T-shirts and Loot bags | Rock Climbing Party

Those of you who read my last post know that our theme for my son’s party this year was rock climbing. I wanted to make the boys a keepsake to remember the day by, so I used the logo I had previously designed for the invitations and made t-shirts out of them. For the loot bags I used scrap pieces of fabric and added rock climbing touches. The kids loved the t-shirts and my homemade gorp!

Cupcake Toppers & Gift Tags | Pumpkin Birthday Party

Robin’s birthday is in October, so when we celebrated her first birthday (2 years ago!) I loved the idea of a pumpkin-themed party. Once I got going, it ended up being SO easy to make decorations inspired by autumn and pumpkins and to tie everything together using various shades of orange, brown, yellow and green. Although I had to spend a little money for some essential items (colourful paper, pumpkin press, etc.), I’ve been able to re-use these supplies each year.
